Closer than my peeps you are to me, Baaaaby

Yesterday Geoff was reminiscing about "how calm ivy used to be as a newborn.."

...Chea right! He must be thinking about another newborn he knows. Weeeell, Obviouslyyyyyy (said in Antoine's voice) we need to jot down some ivy facts so he can remember what she was like at this age.

1.) My theory is that the more fun you are, the more nicknames you have. For example:

-Baby V
-The Boss
-Ivers
-Girlfriend/Homegirl
-Mrs. President Ivy Lang
-Miss Mae
-Ivy League
-V
-Fivers
-Deep V
-Lady
-Ivy-Girl
-Ivy & Bean
-Chives
-Saint Ives
-BBV
-Poison Ivy (Only when she's being not so fun.)
-V-back (Just kidding. That one's gross.)
-Flying V

...Or maybe the more obnoxious your parents are, the more nicknames you get... either one.

2.) I think Ivy can do the "gallon challenge". Since day one she has been eating almost 4x as much and as often as the "required amount" for her age. The girl loves her Similac. Try taking that bottle out of her mouth. I seriously dare you.

3.) Like most babies her age, she loves looking at herself in the mirror. I tell myself the reason she is so smiley and happy when she looks at Geoff though is because "she probably just thinks she's looking in the mirror, Geoff!" But really, she loves her Dad a lot. And i'm a little jealous. So what?

3.) Like I said before, her and Geoff are twinners. The only thing she got from me is my belly and my attitude. Great.

4.) Ivy really likes Target. (She got that from me too I think.)

5.) Ivy gets mistaken as a boy every single time we go somewhere. You see, I try not to dress ivy in anything I wouldn't wear, and it's not my fault she looks cutest in gray, navy and white! Plus when I do put her in something more girly and less unisex, it just looks like Geoff wearing a dress, and it makes us all a little uncomfortable. I know it's embarrassing for others to mistake babies genders, so we always just roll with it and tell them his name and how old he is. I hope this doesn't cause any problems for her later on down the road..

6.) Ivy prefers cuddling over her bumbo chair, boppy pillow, swing, tummy time, back time, etc. That's fine with me, until I have to do super important things. You know, like brush my teeth and stuff.

7.) Ivy loves to swim and bathe.

8.) Her top 5 song's are (in this order)

- "I'm dreaming of a White Xmas" -My version because I don't know the words.
- "Angel" -Shaggy (But if you don't sing it in Shaggy's voice then forget about it.)
- "You make my Dreams" Hall & Oates
- "Somebody to Love" -Justin Bieber
-"Old Mcdonald had a Farm, B-I-N-G-OOOO" (Again my version, I've never been good with lyrics.)

9.) When she starts "crazy-crying" for what seems to be no reason, Geoff and I will both start singing "The Final Countdown" while dancing up in her face. Sensory overload much? And yes, I think she cries now looking for that reaction every time. Bad move on our part.

Sidenote- She looks like this when she starts crying, and sometimes I can't help but laugh and take pictures. No wonder she likes Geoff better!

10.) She slept 7 hours last night. A Labor Day Miracle. Thank you Ivy, from the bottom of my well-rested heart.

WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL!

I love her as if she were my own. She's the closest thing I have to a daughter? She makes me sooo sad to leave. I'm not even kidding. I don't want to talk about it :( :( :(

I could not stop cracking up while reading this, especially the part with your version of the songs. I'm pretty sure I sing old mac donald the same way and didn't know it was wrong for a long time.
