Last night I had to say goodbye to my Sister, my best friend, my neighbor, and one of my favorite people in the entire world- Shanna. It was not pretty let me tell you; tears, hugs, an occasional shriek, somber stares from across passing car windows, and even more tears were all part of the dramatic farewell. Today Shanna and Brad moved to Monterey for school and if I'm being honest about everything, I'd prefer they hadn't. (Just kidding guys, you know I'm thrilled for you!) I think the only person who will take this harder than myself is Ivy, she loves them to pieces! I may curl up in a ball and cry on the sidewalk every time Ivy yells "BRAAAAD! SANNA!" when passing their old street on the way to the park.
Anyway, I hear from a pretty reliable source that Shanna was like my "little Mom" when I was a baby (someone had to be, I was the 6th kid under the age of 10!) so you could say that we're pretty close. I look up to Shanna so much and love her to death. My Mom tells me that I used to cry every morning when Shanna left for Kindergarten, judging by the above picture I guess not much has changed. ;)
Be good to them California. Love you
Keslers.

I love all those little pictures of you two, especially the one with the caggabe patch doll with you girls snuggled together! You girls look gorgeous in the first one too! this post made me tear up a bit myself! We're going to miss the Keslers, even though we're already missin them! Good thing Monterey will be such a cool place to visit! I'm thinking we need to go ahead and get a girls trip on the calendar asap!
HUGE HUGS! I've SO been there!
My sister and my best friend (and their families) all moved away from us, within 3 months of each other, to the midwest.
I know how hard it is to adjust to them not being there whenever you want to hang out. When a phone call is odd because the cell phone number is your area code, but now you're calling a different state. It's been 3.5 years and I'm still adjusting, but as the cliche saying goes, time heals!
It's ok to be sad and happy for them at the same time... just know you're not alone! <3 Lots of love
Okay seriously I hate goodbyes, however, saying goodbye to sisters is THEE worst… but you both look really good? Does that make it a tiny bit better:)
fun pictures!!
So sweet. I miss my sister too.
sisters really are the best! i am a sister and i don't know what i would do without my sister. there was a point where i was living in ohio and my sister lived in michigan, and it was so hard without her! i hope you and shanna will get to see and talk to each other as often as possible.
also, everyone seems to say that ivy is a mini-geoff, but i see so much of her in your pictures of you as children! your genes are definitely present there too. :)
You're the sweetest. Rest assured that I'm missing you and your off spring, and even Geoff, an equal amount (but probably more.) Luv ya!
P.S. That picture of us on the bed is one of my all time favorites. Side note - you look like Ivy in that picture. (And I'm not just saying that to cheer you up;)
I have been in mourning all weekend, I need my Shan.
Let's teach her a lesson for leaving us and become best sister/friends and restage all of these childhood photos.
Sounds like it's time for a trip to Monterey, don't you think? I love the trip down memory lane with pictures of you two little cuties!!
Whats up with the White girls being hipsters so young!? #notfair
