Outside.

The end of the day is a good time of day. Usually while I get dinner prepped, Geoff will lace up V's sneakers, take her outside, and the two of them will soak up the last of the days light together until dinners ready. (Skateboarding/frisbee-tossing/bike riding/watering plants/playing soccer/chasing each other/exploring/you name it!) Ivy loves it and usually doesn't want to come back inside until she's gotten her last fill of Vitamin D, has worked up an apetite, is desperately needing a bath, and is rocking a very, very soggy diaper. Last week Geoff pulled out the camera and filmed a few short clips while doing their thing. While this may just look like a two minute video of a toddler running rampant in the street to you, it makes me really happy because I know what a genuinely good, fun Dad is behind that camera, running right along. Just two adventurous peas in a pod, those two.

That video is positively darling! I turned to my husband after seeing and said, "Honey, you need to learn to make stuff like that, for when we have babies." Because it's so precious.

I love how you eat as a family. It is a precious time that is no longer priority in many families today, because soccer, baseball, the gym, etc. have taken its place as the priority.

"A family that eats together stays together." This quote is very true in my family. As we have grown and moved away that connection is still there, even though distance separates us.

Is that Devendra Banhart I hear? Wonderful choice!

Also, not to be pedantic, but you misspelled 'appetite'. (I edit a lot of publications so these things stand out to me.)

What song is that you used in the video?

Such a lovely little tradition they have! And it's so nice for you to have a few minutes to put the finishing touches on dinner.
