A labor day hike.

In theory, a late morning hike with the family sounded like the perfect Labor Day activity, however once we got to the base of the mountain we remembered just how deceiving an overcast Summer sky can be-- it was icky hot. We started to get a little paranoid about Lo, so the hike was short lived to say the least--I think it's generous to say we made it only half way up. Ivy seemed to enjoy "hiking" though anyway (ahem, sitting on one of our shoulders, collecting rocks on water breaks, and looking for lizards). I'm really excited to integrate hiking back into our weekends once the temperatures drop a bit. I remember loving (and somehow also hating) all the hiking I did with my family as a kid--It's a good thing to do together.

looks fun and HOT all at the same time :) My family used to camp and hike all the time growing up, and I am sure I complained out the whazoo, but I secretly loved it :)

I love this! I miss that Arizona desert (just not the heat). And could Ivy possibly get any cuter?! I don't think so.

Ha ha. Yes, your kind of hiking looks pretty hot and sticky. You need to come up to canada where the trails are cool and shady. Grizzly bears are much easier to spot than lizards.

you guys are the coolest (or should i say hottest in the nasty heat in phx?)

i love the family adventures. i hated them the whole time growing up, but man i look back fondly on them now that i'm removed from the teen embarrasment and sheer misery of being stuck with my family for days on end. ;)

hahaha her outfit. Did Geoff dress her? So cute Ivers. PS: she sounds like a dreamy hiking partner if I do say so myself ;)
