A while ago I challenged myself to be nicer to my body; so I eliminated sugar, white flour, caffeine, and any other junk food from my diet for a couple weeks. (Which is impressive only because those four things are usually the foundation to my diet.) Aside from a couple slip-ups here and there, I'm proud to say that I did it! When I really needed something sweet and a stick of gum just wasn't cutting it, I opted for a bowl of berries or peaches over milk or plain yogurt. I must've been doing really good (for me**), because it tasted like a straight up blizzard! I'm glad I stuck to my little "junk fast"-- I found myself eating more vegetables and nutrient-filled snacks rather than empty calories, felt a lift in energy and mood, drank more water, didn't have a single stomach or headache, and mostly just felt a sense of pride for sticking to something for longer than 3 seconds. ;)
**I am the worlds biggest sweet tooth, choco-holic, soda-junkie, baker, and snacker in the world-- so you can imagine how difficult this was for me. I'm expecting a ton of virtual high-fives and down-lows.

good for you girl!
Impressive! You've inspired me to try it. But come on, peaches over milk tasting like a blizzard!? I'm skeptical... ;)
I don't know... I might have to argue, pretty sure I would have the worlds biggest sweet tooth... three words for ya. softball, cookie, dough. You're inspiring me though! I might be in need of a sugar fast myself.
good job!
by the way those peaches look amazing!
I have eliminated sugar and wheat from my diet for half a year now. Amazing what this does to body and mind.
I will be sticking to the good eating habits, but the caffeine will probably not be eliminated anytime soon - got to have my diet cokes, when I'm craving something sweet.
massive virutal high five!
i do not think i could do it i just love all that bad stuff way too much.
but you never know maybe i will try it after i have the baby in november. who is kidding lets make it jan, christmas without sugar, what a waste!
Virtual knucks to you!! Whoot! I would have a REALLY hard time with the no flour thing. I am impressed!
High-five indeed! I'm still trying to kick my chocolate habit. Grrr!
You're a rockstar! I'm the same as you it sounds. I always tell people I don't have a sweet tooth- ALL my teeth are "sweet teeth."
and let's just say once I discovered candy I walked around the house for 2 weeks saying "cannee mom? cannee?!" (cannee = candy as said by a 2 yr old)
;) Way to go!
