We always get super excited for the weekend, which is funny because to be completely honest, our weekends are strikingly similar to our weekdays. Either way a weekend is a weekend, and it will always leave me feeling relieved and giddy on Thursday night. This weekend consisted of lunch with friends, an embarrassingly long 'Pretty Little liars' marathon on Netflix (I know), a late night In-N-Out binge, birthday parties and swimming with family, 700 loads of laundry, an Einsteins breakfast date, family cuddles with our girls, and playing in that crazy rain we were lucky enough to get.
1. Dinner with friends (and two weeks going strong with that newborn binky. Aye aye aye!) // 2. Veggie straws (crumbs) in bed // 3. Morning "kissies" // 4. A visit (and lots and lots of cuddles) from Aunt Shanna! (and Brad!) // 5. Our first outing to Target as a family of four. We've upgraded shopping carts. Yikes! // 6. Nervously watching all our trees blow over in the crazy storm. // 7. Cheesy matching Mommy-Daughter outfits. Ivy was not phased. // 8. My two favorite kids.

I really hate how fast this past 10 days has gone by. I just don't think it's fair you have to be pregnant for a whopping 9+ months and then only relish in that sweet newborn stage for a few short weeks thereafter. I would honestly change 20 diapers a day and get up in the night every 1-3 hours for the rest of my life if that meant I could always have a newborn in arms reach. In my opinion, there is nothing much better than a swaddled 9 pound baby breathing heavily on your chest. Lola James; I love your silky dark hair, your cheeks that feel exactly like overly ripe peaches, your fuzzy little biceps, and your cheesy grin that you literally cannot control. You are perfection and I can't stop smooching on you.

Newborn babes can somehow make one week feel like one day and one year all at the same time. Thank goodness for our phones for capturing it, because things have been a little blurry over here:
1. Giving Lo the home tour // 2. Cheeks! // 3. Ivy checking in on her baby-seetah // 4. Bed bugs // 5. Swim dates with Dad // 6. First outing for pizza // 7. Sleepy Ha-ha's // 8. Grammy White play dates // 9. Morning cuddles // 10. Little Lola Lady

I may be knocking on wood here, but the past 24 hours Ivy has done nothing but exceed my highest and most unrealistic set of expectations about the transition of gaining a new "baby see-tah". There is absolutely nothing sweeter than seeing Ivys face light up anytime Lo makes a peep, see her share her most beloved toys and blankets with her, or watch her excitedly stick her finger in Lolas hands over and over waiting for her to tightly grasp it with her newborn grip. While I am 100% sure there are many tears, screams, and meltdowns ahead-- today has made me feel like the luckiest Mom in the whole world. I love that these two snuggled up in our bed tonight and dozed off to dreamland together. I think they're going to be the best of friends.

We got some sorta last minute house guests on friday that made our entire weekend! The Keslers came in town for a wedding and we were so glad they could spend any spare second with us they had possible. Ivy cried when they drove off to the airport tonight, to say she was loving all the extra attention from them is a huge understatement. They are so cute with Ives and she is totally obsessed with the two of them. They will be seriously missed around this house (luckily only for the next couple of weeks, whoop whoop!)
