When asked to participate in the “Look What I Found: New Mom Secrets” program for Boudreaux’s Butt Paste, I thought about the few “Mom Tricks” I’ve learned so far in my short two and a half years of being a parent. When trying to decide which “secret weapon” I wanted to share with you, I tried to think of something I used every day, something that showed quick results and something I couldn't live without.
I know the suspense is killing you but before I unveil, I have to give you some back story and take it back to 2011. Like a lot of choosy little ones, Ivy had a really hard time transitioning from milk to solids. I constantly worried about her nutritional needs that weren’t getting met, and mealtimes were always a frustrating battle I never won. She almost always spit out what we gave her, she would rarely ever touch her plate, and she would act super sensitive about different tastes and unfamiliar textures.
When my pediatrician suggested we take a little visit to a food therapist, I was all over it! I didn’t even know what a food therapist was at the time, but I was desperate and willing to try anything. In just the short hour we spent with the therapist -- eating pretzel sticks and rattling off a short list of the few foods that Ivy did eat, we were able to gain some really good pointers that have made mealtimes much less wearisome.
One tip the therapist shared with us (that I could kiss her on the mouth for!) was the power of a toothpick. Yes, a toothpick. I know it's silly, but when a frilly toothpick was involved, all the foods Ivy previously wanted nothing to do with suddenly became irresistible. Since then, we’ve stocked the house with frilly toothpicks, mini “princess” forks, and any other things we can find to make mealtimes more exciting. Ivy's “List of Approved Foods” has rapidly grown, she has become much more open-minded when it comes to trying new things, and best of all there have been fewer fits thrown at the dinner table.
Since there is probably no smooth way of transitioning from picky palates to diaper rash cream, I’m just going to go for it. Boudreaux's Butt Paste is another one of those "Secret Mom Weapons" I couldn't live without. I use it on my babies at least once a day and I'm always amazed at how quickly I see results. (Even if I didn't see results, I'd use it for the smell alone!) I rarely ever forget to apply it before bedtime because I know how well it comforts and protects sensitive little buns all throughout the night. It's thick and moisturizing, goes on smoothly, and a tube will last you forever. You can bet that as long as there are diapers in this house, there will be Boudreaux's. I firmly believe their brand motto, "A Boudreaux's butt is a happy butt" and think every Mom needs a Boudreaux's stash in her toolbox.

There is a square shaped, green tin of the best stuff called Bag Balm that I swear by! Ask for it at the Target pharmacy. I am also super impressed with Burt's diaper rash cream (it smells divine in my opinion!).
i'm a butt paste gal all the way. the results are instant and the smell is lovely because it isn't really medicated-y :)
That is the most GENIUS idea. I have a super picky eater and I am going to start trying that asap. Like right now.
Thank you for the toothpick suggestion! That's brilliant!
We use barrier creams and air dry whenever possible.

I always found a night time diaper rash relief cream was most effective and I also changed their diapers more frequently when they had a rash. The night time diaper rash creams were really a product we couldn't get by without for those tough rashes.

This is a little gross but when there are butt rashes we try our hardest not to use wipes because I think they only irritate it more. So we wash and air dry whenever possible. I think it helps so much!
and I read the official rules!
it's been a long time since I've had a baby but I remember changing diapers frequently and using a diaper rash ointment

I use an off-brand diaper cream, but you have me curious about the smell of Boudreaux's! I can't live without baby Aquaphor for other skin issues--I end up using it myself on dry patches.
floral&fudge
I love boudreaux's smell too, but unfortunately only use it occasionally because some times over use causes more irritation for my little guy.
As far as my 'secrets', I don't have anything too awesome, but straws are my go to thing! My son will occasionally decide that he doesn't want to eat his fruit etc. so if I can turn it into a smoothie or something I do. He loves drinking out of straws and it works wonders to get food in on his picky days.
We use a barrier cream, change diapers frequently and bathe our sons in an oatmeal bath at least once a week. Boudreaux's is great because it truly makes a huge difference after just one application!

Using cloth diapers helps prevent them.
Being sure to change diapers often, keep the skin clean, and using a skin protectant, works well.

My disper rash secret is not to wait until the rash fully developed. I apply Boudreaux's Butt Paste early on when I see the redness. It really helps. So, Boudreaux's product is what I can't live without.

My secret is the type of diaper--I've tried many types, but have had the best success (least diaper rashes) with Pampers!
We love butt paste!! (Never thought I'd type that) I have a picky eater who also gets rashes from fruit. Boudreaux's is what we use in our house!
applesauce is my secret weapon at the moment.
oops, that lasst one was from meagan. Didn't realize I was signed in as max. heaven knows he doesn't know squat about secret weapons..
Butt paste and frequent diaperless exposure to fresh air & sunshine.

We cloth diaper and I have to change her as soon as I noticed she has soiled them. Cloth diapers are great to leak! If I notice any redness, I let her run around and air dry and/or apply a diaper rash cream. Seems to work every time! sonyadmorris@gmail.com

My best tip for preventing and healing diaper rash is, to let my son go without a diaper for 30 minutes , twice a day, to air out his little bottom…it works wonders! I couldn't live without Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Molly Bussler - meoleme@yahoo.com

Frequent diaper changes, soothing baths and diaper ointments all seemed to help.
Frequent diaper changes and baby powder worked well but one important thing was to make sure little bottoms are really clean. Wet wipes are wonderful for removing all the traces of urine that can really irritate their delicate skin.

Diaper rash secret: Air dry//pat dry completely before applying cream to prevent diaper rash, and if those tiny cheeks are a little red let them see a little sunlight. Nakey-bum time in the sun for a FEW minutes can help clear that rash up!
Tricks of the trade: white noise. it helped my babies fall asleep and stay asleep.

My diaper rash secret is to change the diaper often and wash the area and let it air dry. Apply the Boudreaux's Butt Paste even if it has a little redness so it won't get worse. This Boudreaux's Butt Paste is the one I can't live without.
